The Nora knickers pattern
Today the Nora knickers goes live on the website! This pattern complements the Bella bralette and cami pattern, so you can now have matching bra and knicker sets! I love wearing matching sets, as it just feels so nice and I’ve always thought that if I were ever rushed to hospital, I need not be embarrassed as I would have my lovely matching bra and knickers on!
The Nora knickers is really 2 patterns in one. There are two options included – the hipster knicker which has cheeky thong styling with lace wrapping around the body, and the high waisted knicker which features a wider back giving more coverage and a higher waistline. The wide side styling help to make these knickers comfortable and very flattering to wear.
The pattern uses stretch galloon lace like the Bella bralette, and makes use of the pretty scallop edge along the legline. Stretch knit fabric is used for the upper front and back and the gusset. Depending on your mood, you could use a colourful print or a soft plain to match back to your lace. If you haven’t sewn lingerie before, the Nora knickers are a great pattern to start with, as they are a quick and easy sew. One of my testers commented that taking photos of the knickers actually took longer than it did to make them! The pattern is labelled as advanced beginner / intermediate. It would be useful if you were comfortable sewing stretch materials and using elastics, but there is enough instruction for a beginner in the tutorial. The construction of the knickers feature sewing lace together and attaching elastic.
