Penelope panties pattern
The Penelope panties pattern is finally here! I’ve wanted to make this pattern for my lingerie wardrobe for a very long time, and I hope you find her as irresistible as I do! One of my testers made 12 pairs over a week and I intend to do the same.
My daughter came up with the name – Penelope panties. It was the first one she suggested, it sounded fun and cute, and a little sophisticated as well.
The thong styling at the back is so comfortable underneath jeans or athletic wear. There is no elastic to worry about so it doesn’t dig in, but sits smoothly against the skin. The pretty flat lace finish means there is no VPL (visible pantie line!) so it looks invisible under clothes.
There are 2 options included in the pattern – the hipster option which has thong styling and a lower waist and the flattering high waisted pantie with the same thong styling at the back.
If you haven’t sewn lingerie before, the Penelope panties is a great pattern to start with, as she is a quick and easy sew. The pattern is labelled as advanced beginner / intermediate. It would be useful if you were comfortable sewing stretch materials and sewing lace, but there is enough instruction for a beginner in the tutorial.
The tutorial includes detailed instructions with full colour illustrations. If you haven’t made lingerie before, the instructions will walk you through each and every step. Also featured in the tutorial is an explanation of lace patterns and how to place your patterns on scallop lace.
